About MPF

About: We’re a contemporary photography festival which promotes socially engaged art. Currently entering our 3^rd year the aim of the event is to create fun and exciting ways to bring people together and to showcase the most innovative approaches to social art and issues.

Money: We’re an ultra low budget festival and it’s the way we intend to keep it. Curators are given £250 pounds, irrespective of status or experience, to print and design their space. Effectively this levels the playing field, creating a reliance on conceptual content and curatorial innovation rather than the name of the artists or quality of the prints. Funding is also reduced to a minimum to keep as much control in the hands of the festival and the people we work with.  It’s our ultimate intention to become completely self-funded.
