FYP (Future Youth Project)

As part of MPF's ethos we like to work with and promote interesting community projects such as the Future Youth Project (FYP):

FYP encourages children and adults, with or without special needs, to help those less fortunate than themselves at home and abroad. All those involved share in the same experiences and adventures which helps give a sense of self worth and place in a new, global society.

In the past FYP has driven aid convoys to Ukraine and Romania, taking clothes, educational equipment and supplies to orphanages and homes for children with AIDS. In 2004 they took the Maharishi Bouncy Castle to orphanages all over West Africa as a form of Laughter Aid.

In April 2011 FYP bought n mini-bus and took 12 volunteers to orphanages in Zaparozhia, Ukraine. Each volunteer (some of whom had special needs) used their own skills - from martial arts to face painting - to bring joy into the lives of the youngsters they met.

This year they're helping people at Kalinovka, a remote Ukrainian institute housing 160 orphaned children and adults with special needs. They have started work on renovating a barn at Kalinovka to re-house seven of the orphans in a 'family style' home. These institutionalised children will get a taste of home life, learning simple skills to facilitate their eventual reintegration into society in the care of foster parents.
